Background:
I make money from advertising on my website. I need as much traffic as possible.
In the past, votes were calculated as the average per day so that models who entered later are on equal foot with models who entered early. The problem is that a model who enters just for the last week, can easily get more votes per day than a model who entered much earlier. Although I don't mind if models vote for themselves, I don't want a few persons to bomb the votes.
To prevent a case where an old hag from the jungle asked all her grantchildren to vote for her, I have to ensure that the vote_count won't easily be much more than the points I gave the model for looks, photography, talent, etc.
New voting system:
An accummulative system that favours models who enters earlier; it will bring more traffic to my site.- any person may only vote 1x per day
- votes count only 1 point (3 points from members)
- 1 point for every unique voter
- the system will track IP numbers (not emails, names or surnames) which are difficult to fake.
E.g.:
If 1 person votes 1x per day, for every day during the contest: 84 votes + 1 persons = 85 vote_count
If 84 persons vote 1x only during the contest: 84 votes + 84 persons = 168 vote_count
Votes will make-up 40% to 60% of your total points.
Also consider the last major change to the voting system.
